September 10th-13th, 2019 out of Worldwide Sportsman. Stay tuned for updates.

We brought 25 wounded and disabled vets to Worldwide Sportsman (Bass Pro Shops) from September 25th through 28th, 2018. In anticipation of the main event, we held a series of monthly fundraisers at Islamorada Fish Company and other venues. We had a great trip this year! See below for some photos.

Captain Mark Gibson, our Director of Operations for the Florida Keys, is always looking for volunteer captains, donations, and volunteers to help at fundraising and other activities. You can reach him at:

We have taken the initial steps in starting a Project Healing Waters program in the Fort Myers/Sanibel/Captiva/Cape Coral area. In the past, we have hosted Project Healing Waters participants from around the Country at our events. We thought it was high time we started taking care of the veterans right here at home.
So, hopefully, in just a few months, we will be enrolling wounded and disabled military in monthly classes and trips designed to bring our vets the healing benefits of fly fishing right here in their own back yards!

If you know of any vets in our area that can use help in helping them deal with PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, or other wounds of war, have them get in touch with me or Ronnie Friedl at:

Our 2017 Captiva trip was a huge success! We cannot thank everyone enough for helping make this event possible.
We brought 50 wounded and disabled military veterans and volunteers to Captiva. The 50 paricipants included 15 women and are members of Project Healing Waters, a national 501(c)(3) organization.

Some kind words from our vets.

"It enables the vets to get out, let their hair down, take their pack off and just be around fellow brothers and sisters. It keeps us from pondering. I can’t say enough about how positive it is."

"I’ve seen sunsets all around the world. As I crossed the equator one time the sunset was gorgeous…but never have I seen sunsets like this."
